Janice Zahn

Janice Zahn was appointed to the Washington House of Representatives for the 41st district in January 2025. She previously served on the Bellevue City Council starting in 2017. Zahn is also the Chief Engineer at the Port of Seattle, where she has worked since 2000. She immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong at the age of ten. Zahn holds three degrees from the University of Washington: a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Science in Structural Engineering, and a Master of Public Administration. Her career includes working as a structural engineer designing bridge and waterfront projects before joining the Port of Seattle. She has been actively involved in her community, serving in leadership roles with the PTA, as a Girl Scout leader, and on the boards of organizations like The Sophia Way and Nourishing Networks.
