Javier Hugo Figueroa is a candidate for University Place City Council in University Place, Washington — 2025 General Election. Running as Nonpartisan.

Javier Figueroa is the current Mayor of University Place and has served on the City Council since 2009. He is a native of Monterrey, Mexico, and was the first naturalized citizen from Mexico to be elected to a city council in Washington State. Figueroa served 12 years in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War veteran. His professional experience includes over 30 years in real estate asset management, serving as the Lands Program Manager for the WA State Parks and Recreation Commission, and as Executive Vice President of Rockmann Development Group, LLC. He has also served as a certified arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau. His education includes three years of undergraduate work in Business Administration and an Advance Municipal Leadership Certificate from the Association of Washington Cities.
