Javier Valdez is an incumbent Democratic State Senator representing Washington's 46th Legislative District, having assumed office in 2023. He is seeking re-election in the August 2026 primary. Before his Senate tenure, Valdez served in the Washington House of Representatives from 2017 to 2023. Born in Moses Lake, Washington, he earned degrees from the University of Washington and Baruch College. His extensive public service includes over two decades with the city of Seattle, including a role at Seattle City Light and as an aide to a former mayor. Valdez also has a long history of involvement with the Washington State Democratic Party leadership.
