Livingstone is a Democratic State Representative for Massachusetts' 8th Suffolk District, representing the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway, and West End neighborhoods of Boston; he was elected in 2013. Born and raised in North Attleboro, he earned a B.A. in political science and history from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from George Washington School of Law while working union factory jobs. An attorney for nearly thirty years, he served in the Civil Division of the Attorney General's Office of the Northern Mariana Islands and as an Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, and practices employment law and criminal defense. He is a former board member of the Beacon Hill Civic Association and lives in the Back Bay with his wife Julie and their two sons.
