Jeff Breckel is the current Chair of the Stevenson Planning Commission and the Chair of the state's Salmon Recovery Funding Board. He has an extensive career in public service and natural resource management, having served for 18 years as the executive director of the Lower Columbia Fish Recovery Board, where he led the development of the first federally approved salmon recovery plan in the state. His prior experience includes serving as the executive director of the Columbia River Gorge Commission, a nuclear waste policy adviser for the Governor's Office and the Washington State Department of Ecology, a policy assistant to Governor John Spellman, a member of the state House of Representatives, and a two-term state Senator. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Washington and served in the Navy.
