Jefferson Burton, known as Jeff, is a distinguished public servant with a notable career in both military and legislative roles. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for 37 years, retiring as a Major General. Following his military service, he led Utah's COVID-19 response for Governor Herbert. Burton was a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives, representing District 64 (formerly 66) from January 2021 until his resignation in March 2026. He focused on legislation addressing alcohol laws, election procedures, state debt collection, and support for service members. Burton withdrew his re-election bid for 2026 and resigned due to his family moving out of the district. He currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Community Development at Zions Bank.
