Jeff Coughlin is a current Bremerton City Councilmember, first elected in 2021, and served as Council President in 2023. He is an astrophysicist with a PhD from New Mexico State University and has a distinguished career in space science, including working for NASA and the SETI Institute on the Kepler mission. Coughlin also volunteers as the Executive Director of the Kitsap History Museum. He lives in Bremerton with his husband, a shipyard worker, and their son.
