She is a graduate of Duke University with majors in public policy studies and history, and she earned a law degree with High Honors from the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University. Her legal career includes practicing civil litigation in Virginia and, more recently, trusts and estates at Ward and Smith, P.A. in New Bern. Dacey has been actively involved in the community, serving as the president of the Craven Community College Foundation, chair of the Craven County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, a board member of the Craven-Pamlico Re-Entry Council, a trustee of Craven Community College, and president of the Craven County Republican Women's Club.
