Jerry 'Alan' Branson is a Republican member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 59 since his appointment on April 24, 2024, succeeding Jon Hardister who resigned. He is a third-generation owner of a family trucking business, Stout Trucking, Inc., which was established in 1946. Prior to his role in the state legislature, Branson served on the Guilford County Board of Commissioners for eight years, from 2013 to 2021, including two years as Vice-Chairman and two years as Chairman. He is a devout Methodist and attends Tabernacle Methodist Church. Branson and his wife, Rhonda, have two children.
