Gerald Ray Griffin, known as Jerry Griffin, is an Independent candidate for Governor of Oklahoma in the 2026 election. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Griffin previously served as a member of the Tulsa Public Schools Board of Education for District 6 from 2020 until his resignation in April 2024. He also has a history of civic engagement, including a 1974 run for the Tulsa Police and Fire Commission where he advocated for the use of helicopters. Griffin has announced he has cut ties with the Republican Party, campaigning as an Independent, and expresses confidence in becoming the first Independent to win a statewide office in Oklahoma by expanding the political conversation.
