Jessica Rienstra is a psychiatric nurse practitioner, small business owner, and a lifelong resident of rural Whatcom County. She has 20 years of experience in healthcare, including work in local clinics and global disaster response. She earned degrees from Bellingham Technical College and Western Washington University, and her nurse practitioner license after graduate work at Gonzaga University. Her experience includes memory care, pediatrics, infectious disease, and substance use disorder treatment. She was elected to the Whatcom County Charter Review Commission in 2024. Her campaign was inspired by her experience helping the community recover from the 2021 Nooksack flood.
