Jessie Bellflowers is the incumbent mayor of Hope Mills, sworn into office in December 2023. He is a retired U.S. Army veteran with a 26-year career. After retiring from the military in 2003, he and his family returned to Hope Mills, where he began working at Fayetteville Technical Community College, serving as the Department Chair for General Business Administration/Leadership Studies. His public service includes two terms as a Hope Mills Commissioner from 2017 to 2021. He has also been active in veterans' organizations, serving as the North Carolina State Commander for the VFW in 2015 and 2016.
