Jill Tipton is a lifelong resident of Lincolnton. She graduated from Lincolnton High School, earned a BA in English from Campbell University, and a Master's Degree in Reading from Appalachian State University. Following a 31-year career as a teacher with Lincoln County Schools, she now works as a substitute special needs teacher. Tipton has a long history of community service, including volunteering for fourteen years with the Hope for Haiti Children's Center, working with her church, and delivering meals for Christian Ministries. She was named the Lincoln County Woman of the Year in 2017.
