Jim Ferrell is the current and third-term mayor of Federal Way, having served since 2014. He previously served for ten years on the Federal Way City Council. Ferrell grew up in Federal Way and later graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law. Prior to his mayoral role, he worked as a King County Senior Deputy Prosecutor. He and his wife, Wendy, have lived in Federal Way for three decades and have one son.
