Jim Marchant, born in Florida in 1956, moved to Nevada in 2005. After studying criminal justice and working in business, he served as a Republican in the Nevada Assembly from 2016 to 2018. Marchant has previously campaigned for Congress and Nevada Secretary of State. A staunch supporter of Donald Trump, he focuses his current campaign on election integrity, advocating for strong voter ID, ending universal mail-in voting, single-day voting, and eliminating electronic voting machines. He also proposes modernizing Nevada’s election system, requiring all voters to re-register, and repealing the state's Commerce Tax to foster business growth. He is currently a candidate for Nevada Secretary of State in the 2026 Republican primary.
