Jim Risch is an incumbent U.S. Senator for Idaho, first elected in 2008. A lawyer by profession, he previously served as Idaho's Lieutenant Governor and briefly as Governor. Known as one of the Senate’s most conservative members, Risch advocates for reducing government spending, returning power to states, cutting red tape, protecting Second Amendment rights, and supporting small businesses. He aims to continue working with President Trump to advance conservative goals like American energy dominance and border security, which he believes Idahoans support. Risch chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is a senior member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. He is running for re-election in 2026 with President Trump’s complete and total endorsement.
