Jim Shoemaker is a Republican candidate for California State Assembly District 9 in the 2026 election. A longtime resident of San Joaquin County, Shoemaker previously ran for California State Senate in 2024 and the U.S. House in 2022. Born in San Pedro, he gained early experience working on a farm and as a custom harvester. He later worked as a truck driver and Teamsters Union member before owning his own trucking company, as well as businesses in the construction and pool maintenance industries.
