He assumed office in April 2025 after winning a special election to succeed Matt Gaetz. Prior to his election to Congress, Patronis served as Florida's Chief Financial Officer from 2017 to 2025. A fourth-generation Floridian from Panama City, he also served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014 and grew up working in his family's restaurant business.
