Joel Hansen is a lifelong Thurston County resident who has been involved in various public efforts. He has previously served on the Thurston County Planning Committee and the Port Citizens Advisory Committee. He ran for Port Commissioner in 2021, advancing from the primary to the general election. During his 2021 campaign, he worked for a business called CapStone Solar.
