John Albers is an incumbent Republican State Senator for Georgia's District 56, representing parts of Fulton, Cherokee, and Cobb counties. He was sworn into the Senate on January 10, 2011. Professionally, he is an executive and business owner. Senator Albers chairs the Public Safety Committee and serves as Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee, in addition to being a member of Appropriations, Government Oversight, Regulated Industries and Utilities, Rules, and Urban Affairs. He is married to Kari, born August 18, and is a Christian-Methodist with an education from the University of Louisville.
