John Barrett III is an American politician serving as a Democratic member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 1st Berkshire District since November 2017. He previously served as mayor of North Adams for twenty-six years (1984–2009), at the time the longest-serving mayor in the state. He attended Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (formerly North Adams State College), earning bachelor's and master's degrees.
