John Block is an incumbent Republican State Representative for New Mexico's 51st House District, serving since 2023. He represents Otero County and is seeking re-election in the 2026 primary. During his tenure, he has served as Ranking Member on the House Government, Elections & Indian Affairs Committee and as a Member of the House Consumer & Public Affairs Committee, among other interim committees. Outside of his legislative duties, Block is the Editor and Founder of the Piñon Post, a New Mexico news and politics publication. He previously held roles as committee staff for the New Mexico House and an intern for the Dallas County Republican Party.
