John Deaton

John Deaton was born in 1967 in Highland Park, Michigan, and grew up in poverty, becoming the only member of his family to graduate high school. He graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Michigan University (while being treated for testicular cancer) and cum laude from the New England School of Law in Boston in 1995. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps (1995-2002) as a Judge Advocate at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, serving as Senior Defense Counsel, then Chief Prosecutor, and as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, before being medically retired as a Captain. He founded the Deaton Law Firm in 2006, representing mesothelioma and asbestos victims, and later gained national attention as pro bono amicus counsel for XRP token holders in the SEC v. Ripple Labs litigation. In 2023 he published the memoir 'Food Stamp Warrior.' He is a cancer survivor, father of three daughters, and resides in Bolton, Massachusetts; he was the 2024 Republican U.S. Senate nominee against Elizabeth Warren before running again in the 2026 cycle.
