John Gannon

John Gannon is an incumbent Democratic State Representative for Idaho's District 17A. A longtime resident of the Boise Bench area, he is an attorney by profession, educated at UC Davis and UC Hastings. He has served in the Idaho Legislature since 2012, with a previous term in the early 90s, and is now seeking his eighth consecutive term. Gannon champions issues such as protecting voting rights, ensuring access to medical care, education funding, property tax fairness, and improving local water quality, having intervened in utility cases and working to raise jury pay. He is running unopposed in the 2026 Democratic primary.
