John George Guise

John George Guise has over 35 years of legal experience. He currently serves as the In-House Counsel for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. His career includes roles as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, a civil litigator and criminal defense attorney at Copeland Richards PLLC, and an Assistant District Attorney for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office. He also has experience in higher education, having served as General Counsel, an adjunct lecturer, and in other roles at Davidson College. He earned his B.A. from Davidson College in 1987 and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University in 1990. He has been a resident of Davidson, NC for over 25 years.
