Judge John Olson was appointed to the Kirkland Municipal Court in December 2019 and was elected for a full term in November 2021. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Puget Sound and also holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Washington. His legal career began over 30 years ago as a prosecutor for King County and the City of Bellevue. He later served as Associate Executive Director and Legal Counsel for the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) until 2019. Before practicing law, he was a teacher and coach in the Auburn School District.
