John "Captain" Phillips is a 31-year veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. A lifelong Floridian, he has lived in the state for over 30 years and currently resides in Bradenton. During his military career, Phillips served in operational roles, managing teams and supporting missions focused on navigation safety and disaster response. He is running as a Republican for the Florida House of Representatives District 72 in the 2026 election.
