John T. Saunders is a New Bedford Democrat serving as a Bristol County Commissioner. A former New Bedford city councilor (28 years on the council), he won the Democratic primary for county commissioner in 2014 and was re-elected in 2018 and 2022. He works at UMass Dartmouth as a facilities manager, formerly director of leased off-campus facilities.
