Winn Decker

Winn Decker is an education and workforce policy leader and a candidate for the North Carolina House of Representatives in District 37. Raised in rural northwest Tennessee, he has lived in North Carolina for more than a decade and earned a Ph.D. in Public Administration from North Carolina State University, with a focus on public budgeting and education policy. Decker’s career has centered on helping states strengthen public schools, align education with workforce needs, and make smarter long-term investments. He previously worked at the Hunt Institute, where he collaborated with governors, legislators, and education leaders from both parties on bipartisan policy solutions. In 2023, he founded his own consulting firm focused on education, workforce development, and strategic planning. He is active in the southern Wake County community as a youth basketball coach and community volunteer and lives in Fuquay-Varina.
