Johnnie R. S. McKnight is a public school teacher, union representative, and candidate for State Representative in Springfield's 11th Hampden District. He grew up on Dawes Street in Springfield, experienced poverty, homelessness, and incarceration at the Department of Youth Services as a youth, and found a pathway out through sports and education. He earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Holyoke Community College and a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Business Management from American International College. He now lives in Forest Park, Springfield with his two daughters and is running to bring lived experience, accountability, and real advocacy back to the 11th Hampden District.
