Johnny Mautz

John Mautz IV is a Republican State Senator representing Maryland's Legislative District 37, a position he assumed in 2023. Previously, he served in the Maryland House of Delegates for District 37B from 2015 to 2023. As a senator, he is a member of the Finance Committee. Before his election to the General Assembly, Mautz's career in public service included roles as counsel for the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, a special assistant for Governor Bob Ehrlich, and a legislative director for a member of Congress. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University. Mautz is also the owner of the Carpenter Street Saloon in St. Michaels.
