Jonas Moya is a fourth-generation rancher from New Mexico, raised on his grandmother's farm in Tucumcari. He earned a degree in Agricultural Economics and Business from New Mexico State University. Moya previously served as New Mexico's State Director for the Farm Service Agency under President Joe Biden, where he managed a multimillion-dollar budget and focused on supporting rural communities. He is running for New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands in the 2026 Democratic primary to protect lands and ensure public resources serve the people. He aims to continue the Land Office's momentum, prioritize customer service, and balance energy development with environmental stewardship.
