Retired U.S. Navy Supply Corps officer and former federal civil servant who ran for Florida House District 43 in 2026. Malavet joined the Navy at 18 as an enlisted sailor, earned his commission, and retired in 2008 after 20 years of service afloat, ashore, and overseas — including as a Supply Department head aboard a ballistic-missile submarine. He went on to federal service as an Administrative Officer with USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service and in roles at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of Homeland Security, including Immigration Officer, Chief of Staff, and Regional Branch Chief for Budget and Financial Management; he also served as Executive Officer with the Defense Finance & Accounting Service. He holds a bachelor's degree (1998), a graduate degree from Troy University (2005), and a law degree from Barry University School of Law (2014). A husband, father of four, and grandfather of five, he describes himself as a lifelong public servant grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.
