Jorge Malavet is a retired U.S. Navy Supply Corps officer and former federal civil servant running for the U.S. House to represent Florida's 9th Congressional District. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he served in the military for 20 years before beginning a career in federal service. Until September 2025, he worked for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as a Branch Chief for Budget and Financial Management. Malavet holds a Juris Doctor from Barry University.
