Joseph 'Joe' Baldacci, born in 1965, is a Democratic politician and attorney from Maine. A graduate of the University of Maine with both a bachelor's and a law degree, he has a long history of public service. Baldacci served 12 years on the Bangor City Council, including two terms as mayor, before being elected to the Maine Senate in 2020, where he chairs the State and Local Government committee. He owns his law office, established in 1991. Baldacci is now running for Maine's 2nd congressional district in 2026. He advocates for codifying Roe, increasing sexual health education funding, and ensuring equitable reproductive healthcare. His decision to run follows the incumbent's choice not to seek re-election, and he brings extensive experience from local and state government to his congressional bid.
