Josh Binda is a first-generation American whose family came to the U.S. as refugees from Liberia. He moved to Lynnwood in 2012. In 2021, at age 21, he was elected to the City Council, becoming the youngest African American elected official in Washington state history. He currently serves as Council Vice President. Binda attended the University of Washington and has worked as an integration engineer for Blue Origin and Amazon. He is also a motivational speaker and published author.
