Josh Keyser is a Republican State Senator for Idaho's District 20, representing the Meridian area. First elected in 2024, he assumed office on December 1, 2024, after defeating the incumbent in the primary election. A former Marine and Boise police officer, Keyser holds a Business degree from Vanguard University and moved to Meridian in 2018. During his first legislative session in 2025, he served as Vice Chair of the Senate Transportation Committee and on the Health and Welfare, and Judiciary and Rules committees. He co-sponsored legislation restricting homeless encampments and reducing refugee medical aid eligibility. Keyser advocates for tax reduction, conservative governance, parental choice in education, and strong support for first responders. He emphasizes protecting individual freedoms, Idaho sovereignty, and private healthcare decisions. Running for re-election, he highlights his record of tackling complex issues, lowering taxes, and expanding freedom.
