Judy Chu is a candidate for United States House of Representatives California District 28 in Congressional District 28, California — 2026 Primary Election. Running as Democratic Party.

Judy Chu was born in Los Angeles, California. She earned a B.A. in mathematics from UCLA in 1974 and a Ph.D. in psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1979. She worked as a psychology professor for 20 years. Her political career began in 1985 on the Garvey School District Board of Education. She then served on the Monterey Park City Council, including three terms as Mayor. Chu was elected to the California State Assembly in 2001 and later to the California State Board of Equalization. In 2009, she became the first Chinese American woman elected to Congress. She currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Budget Committee.
