Julie Hummer is a Democratic member of the Anne Arundel County Council, representing District 4. She is currently serving her first term. A strong advocate for housing affordability, transportation, and economic growth, Hummer previously served on the Anne Arundel County Board of Education from 2015 to 2020, including as president and vice president. Her professional background includes roles as a special education teacher and an assistant vice president at First Union Bank. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Virginia and a master's degree in special education from Old Dominion University. Hummer and her husband, an Army veteran, have five children and have been residents of District 4 since 2003.
