Julie Won is a member of the New York City Council representing District 26, which includes parts of western Queens. First elected in 2021, she is the first woman and immigrant to represent the district, as well as the first Korean-American council member in New York City history. Born in South Korea, Won immigrated to the United States as a child. Before entering politics, she worked in the technology sector for IBM. She is currently running for the U.S. House of Representatives in NY-07.
