Justin Onwenu is an attorney, community organizer, and the City of Detroit's first Director of Entrepreneurship and Economic Opportunity [3.8]. A fourth-generation Detroiter, he earned a bachelor's degree from Rice University and a law degree from Columbia Law School. He previously served as an environmental justice organizer for the Sierra Club, advocating for clean air and water. Onwenu has also served on the state's Black Leadership Advisory Council. He is running for Michigan State Senate District 1.
