Justine Sandoval, also known as Justa Jus, is a 39-year-old fourth-generation Denverite and a Democratic candidate for the Colorado House of Representatives, District 5. Inspired by her grandmother, a leader in the Chicano Rights Movement, Sandoval has dedicated 20 years to local politics and community work. Her experience includes working for the Colorado Democratic Party and nearly a decade advocating for abortion rights with the nonprofit Cobalt, where she directed the campaign for Amendment 79. She is running due to a sense of duty to address pressing state issues, prioritizing housing, transportation, and the budget, alongside labor rights and equity for all.
