Kambrell Houston Garvin

Kambrell Houston Garvin is an incumbent Democratic State Representative for South Carolina House District 77, first elected in 2018. He is also an injury attorney, having launched his own firm in 2022. Born in Columbia, SC, Garvin was inspired by his mother and grandfather, overcoming a childhood speech impediment to become an early advocate; he organized his first voter registration campaign at age ten. A former public school teacher and Teach for America alumnus, he champions educational equity. Holding multiple degrees, including a JD and MBA, Garvin advocates for economic development, healthcare expansion, and criminal justice reform, including Medicaid expansion and higher minimum wages. He resides in Blythewood with his wife and daughter.
