Kate Dexter has been a member of the Port Angeles City Council for seven years, serving as Mayor for nearly five of them. She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Public Service from Albion College, followed by a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington. Her professional experience includes roles at Humanities Washington and the Oregon Office of Rural Health at Oregon Health and Science University. Currently, she works as a Program Specialist in the nursing department at Peninsula College. Before her election to the council in 2018, she was an active community volunteer, serving as treasurer and president of the Franklin Elementary PTO.
