Katie Fire Thunder is an incumbent State Representative for Montana's House District 59, having been unanimously elected by county commissioners and assuming office in December 2025. A member of the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, she is recognized as the youngest state legislator in Montana at age 25. Originally from Bozeman, she holds a bachelor's degree in political science and Native American studies from Montana State University. Before her legislative role, she worked as a legal assistant and co-founded Bozeman Tenants United, advocating for safe and affordable housing.
