Kelly Allen is the former mayor of Haw River, where she was first elected to the town council in 2009 as a write-in candidate and served for 10 years before being elected mayor in 2019. She is a graduate of Cummings High School and studied nursing at Alamance Community College, leading to a career as a retired nurse from Alamance Ear, Nose, and Throat. In November 2024, she was appointed by the local Republican Party to fill a vacancy on the Alamance County Board of Commissioners. In December 2025, she was unanimously selected by her colleagues to serve as the board's chair.
