Kelly Green was appointed to the Olympia City Council in January 2025 to fill a vacant seat. She has worked at South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) since 2012, currently serving as the Vice President for Advancement. Green has lived in Olympia since 2005 and previously served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho. She is a board member for the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees.
