Ken Gallegos Miyagishima

Ken Miyagishima is a former Mayor of Las Cruces, New Mexico (2007–2023), a businessman, and an adjunct professor at New Mexico State University. Born at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, he was raised in Alamogordo (1969–71) and Las Cruces (1971–present). He earned a BBA in finance and real estate from New Mexico State University (1985) and an MBA from the University of Texas at El Paso (2021). First elected as a Doña Ana County Commissioner in 1992, he went on to serve as Mayor of Las Cruces before retiring on December 31, 2023, as the city's longest-serving mayor since 1907. He is married to Rosario 'Rosie' Rodriguez and is the father of four.
