Kenneth Mejia is an accountant, activist, and politician currently serving as the Los Angeles City Controller since 2022. He was the first Asian American elected to a citywide office in Los Angeles history. Mejia earned an Accounting degree from Woodbury University and became a Certified Public Accountant, working as an auditor for a Big Four firm. He previously ran for the U.S. House of Representatives and has been a dedicated housing rights advocate. He is running for re-election in 2026.
