Kent Stewart Udell, a Democratic candidate for U.S. House representing Utah's 3rd Congressional District, advanced from the Democratic convention. An engineer, scientist, and educator, Udell earned mechanical engineering degrees from Utah State and the University of Utah. He spent over two decades at UC Berkeley pioneering groundwater cleanup technologies and teaching ethics, later chairing the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Utah before retiring as Professor Emeritus in 2023.
