Kerry R. Bensinger was appointed as a Judge to the Superior Court of Los Angeles County by Governor Jerry Brown in 2011 and assumed office in 2012. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University in 1982 and his J.D. from the University of Southern California School of Law in 1987. Before his appointment, he was a partner at the law firm Bensinger, Ritt, Tai and Thvedt from 1995 to 2011. His prior experience includes working as an associate attorney for Quinn Kully and Morrow from 1991 to 1995 and serving as a deputy federal public defender for the Central District of California from 1987 to 1991. He was re-elected in 2020 after the election was canceled as he was the only candidate to file. His current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.
